Sam Raimi Insists Bruce Campbell Will Be In ‘Evil Dead 4′

Evil Dead got lucky. Seriously, no matter how great the idea is or no matter who’s involved behind the camera or in front of the camera, making a trilogy with three good films is extremely difficult. The Godfather couldn’t do it, and neither could Star Wars. Lord of the Rings mostly passes the test, but even then, there’s a solid hour between the second and third film we just don’t need. I think the Bourne trilogy is the best ever, for the simple fact that the movies got better as the series progressed.
So for Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell to make a trilogy that works as well as it does is quite an accomplishment. After all, with loads of more resources, Raimi couldn’t make three good Spider-Man movies. And it’s understandable that fans would want to keep the ride going, although Campbell has voiced in he past concerns about seeing Ash Williams again, that if there is an Evil Dead 4, maybe it’s time to do something new with it.
Raimi doesn’t buy that and told MTV last that Campbell will star in Evil Dead 4 if it happens. “He can dream all he wants. He’s trying to get out of getting back in shape,” Raimi joked. “I’m going to kick his butt in shape. I’m gonna say ‘get back in the chainsaw!’”
