Warner Bros has released the first teaser trailer for Louis Leterrier’s remake of Clash of the Titans. With speed ramp, heavy guitar riffs, and fast paced edits, this definitely isn’t “your father’s Clash of the Titans”. And I’m not really a fan of the “Titans will Clash” slogan. I know a lot of you will probably be impressed by this trailer, calling it “bad ass”. But for me, much of the low-fi magic that made the original special appears to be missing from this version, instead replaced with loads of CG and Lord of the Rings-style flyby shots. It could just be the “lets appeal to the mainstream Mountain Dew drinkers” edit. Who knows what the actual film will look like… We’ll see. Watch the trailer for yourself after the jump. Louis Leterrier’s ‘Clash of the Titans’ Begins Production
Warner Bros Pictures has issued an official press release announcing the beginning of principal photography on Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans. I’ve included the whole press release after the jump, and it is actually worth reading because it includes a detailed cast and crew breakdown, and plot synopsis. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 26th 2010.
Principal photography began Monday on Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ epic action adventure Clash of the Titans, being directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk). The film stars Sam Worthington (upcoming Terminator Salvation and Avatar) and Academy Award® nominees Liam Neeson (Taken, Schindler’s List) and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films, The English Patient).

Liam Neeson & Ralph Fiennes Cast In ‘Clash of the Titans’

Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes have been cast in Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans. Neeson will play Zeus, king of the gods, a character played by Laurence Oliver in the 1981 film. Sam Worthington is already on board to play his son, Perseus. Fiennes is in talks to play Hades, the ruler of the underworld who is on a mission to overtake Zeus.
Neeson and Fiennes join the already announced cast of Mads Mikkelsen (Draco), Gemma Arterton (Io) and Alexa Davalos (Andromeda). The screenplay was penned by screenwriting legend Lawrence Kasdan, you know, the guy who wrote Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The original Desmond Davis film was an adaptation of the myth of Perseus which told his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. The movie is famous for its use of Ray Harryhausen’s stop motion animated creatures.
