‘Chuck’ Renewed, ‘Sarah Connor Chronicles’ Is Cancelled
May 18, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment

It looks like Chuck fans can rest easy. NBC has announced tonight that it will be renewing the show for a third season, though it will receive a shortened 13-episode season along with other possible budget reductions. Ausiello reports that the show may lose a cast member, and possibly two staff writers as well. Given that the series has many secondary characters, I’m thinking we could easily lose someone without affecting the core of the show at all. The writer cut also makes sense given the shortened season run.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fans unfortunately have less to celebrate. While I can’t find any other sources corroborating this, Ausiello has updated the show’s status on his fall tv cheat sheet to “officially cancelled.” Given that he already reported that the show was pretty much down for the count last month, the show’s fate is not all that surprising. As a person who appreciated the series, I’m saddened to see the show go.
I think the decision may have come down to saving Dollhouse or Terminator, and despite how much I dig the Sarah Connor Chronicles, I won’t give up Dollhouse’s 13 episode renewal for anything.
While we’ve lost some good television shows this season, I’m heartened to see the likes of Chuck, Dollhouse, and Friday Night Lights survive. It gives me the (possibly naive) hope that good television shows may actually get recognized for their quality—instead of constantly being threatened by ratings numbers.
Discuss: Are you happy about the Chuck renewal? Do you think Sarah Connor Chronicles deserved another chance? Was Dollhouse the better choice for Fox?
Fox Cancels ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?’
April 15, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
It appears that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will get the axe after two seasons on Fox. "It’s done," a source tells Entertainment Weekly. "Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks."
Another insider shovels just as much dirt: "Consider it canceled."
Fox, on the other hand, says no decision has been made on the fate of the show, which aired its season (and possibly series) finale last Friday. We’ll know for sure no later than May 18th, when Fox unveils its Fall 2009 schedule, but don’t bet on the ratings-troubled sci-fi show coming back for a third season.
Linda Hamilton Confirmed for Terminator Salvation
March 17, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment

In February, Linda Hamilton revealed that she was in active negotiations to reprise her role as Sarah Connor for a voice over in McG’s Terminator Salvation. CHUD now has confirmation that she not only agreed to do the read, but the voice over is already cut into the beginning of the film.
A Sarah Connor voice over is the perfect way to introduce the audience to the post-apocalyptic world of the future, and it sounds like it fit in quite nicely.
Yet Another Terminator 2 Edition Coming Out On Disc
Terminator 2: Judgment Day will be headed to Blu-Ray on May 19th in a special Skynet Edition. True, there is a one-disc version of the Blu-Ray already available, but this is much, much more than that.
To begin with, Lionsgate Home Entertainment has packed over eight hours of interactive features into the Skynet Edition, which includes over two hours of behind-the-scenes videos and multimedia galleries. There is, of course, no coincidence that Terminator Salvation will arrive in theaters three days later.
The fun doesn’t stop with just the Skynet Edition, however. There’s also a Limited Edition T2 Complete Collector’s Set, which includes six discs and comes with a 14" T-800 Endoskull, perfect for any occasion. Well, almost. The Complete Collector’s Set has everything ever released on DVD for T2 and you’ll also get a digital copy so you can take it with you wherever your iPod goes. Linda Hamilton In Negotiations For ‘Terminator Salvation’
There’s a reason MTV News just named Sarah Connor our #8 Movie Badass of All Time. 24 years after she battled Arnold’s T-800 cyborg and 17 years after she donned a revealing tank top to do sweaty pull-ups in a mental institution, we just can’t quit Connor. Neither, it seems, can her alter-ego Linda Hamilton. In an exclusive interview with MTV, the actress revealed for the first time that she’s in active negotiations to reprise her iconic role in this May’s “Terminator Salvation.”
“We are talking,” Hamilton told us during a wide-ranging conversation for her Movie Badass selection. “I haven’t read it yet. I don’t know what direction they will go in.”
While she awaits the specifics in a script, Hamilton already knows what her role generally would be. “My contribution would be voiceover,” she said. “I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.”
News of Hamilton’s likely involvement jibes with word coming out of last weekend’s New York Comic-Con, where “Salvation” director McG intimated that her participation in the reboot is essential. “She’s the greatest,” he said of Sarah Connor, adding that as an integral figure in franchise mythology, “one can imagine she plays an important role.”
Since he first began discussing the project and showing early footage, McG has been winning fans among the “Terminator” faithful for his commitment to honor the original films—a stance that Hamilton didn’t feel the makers of “T3” took. “They offered me a part,” she said. “I read it and I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character. She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.” Read more
Shirley Manson Talks “Sarah Connor Chronicles”
February 11, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
Shirley Manson, who plays the liquid metal T-1001 Catherine Weaver on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, told SCI FI Wire that the remaining nine episodes of the season take Weaver out of her familiar corporate setting. Weaver has delegated tasks from her office while Cromartie (Garrett Dilahunt) and Ellison (Richard T. Jones) do her bidding. (Spoilers ahead!)
“I got to get out of my office, and I got to do a scene without Richard T. Jones, which is unusual, and we laughed about it,” Weaver said in an exclusive interview. “I just felt like I got more to do, and of course that’s exciting for me.”
So far, Manson said that she still has not shared scenes with cast members Lena Headey (Sarah), Thomas Dekker (John), Summer Glau (Cameron) or Brian Austin Green (Derek). But she has filmed more visual-effects shots, though nothing will top her first appearance as a Terminator morphing out of a men’s urinal.
“No, but I get to do some really cool s–t,” the former Garbage singer said. “It’s so cool. I feel like the plot has really sort of quickened its pace. It’s taken a different turn, perhaps, the first half of this season. It’s much more action-based, perhaps, than the first half.”
As the story develops for Weaver, Manson has been surprised to find out what she will play week to week. “The plot around my character, like, all the plot, to be honest, it takes some extreme turns,” she said. “The arc of the character is not what I expected. Let’s put it that way. Certainly the second half of the season, there’s more for me to do. My character takes some unusual turns, and it’s exciting. I really feel really lucky that I’ve got an amazing role. I can’t believe it.”
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles moves to a new timeslot, Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, starting Feb. 13.

Here’s a trailer to Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. It’s going to be nice to actually see John Connor as an adult this time around. We’ll see how Christian Bale handles the role, although from the performance in Batman Begins, I think he’ll do just fine. Read more
Terminator 4 Teaser Trailer Attached To The Dark Knight
June 11, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

An advance look at a marketing teaser poster for McG’s Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins was revealed at the New York Licensing Show. The tagline on the bottom reads “Becoming Self-Aware Memorial Day 2009”
MTV says that the first official teaser poster will hit theaters on July 18th, to coincide with Warner Bros’ release of The Dark Knight. Attached to the Batman sequel will be the film’s first teaser trailer. The film is only a month into production, so it’s likely that the teaser will contain little or no footage from the actual film. And hey, you were going to The Dark Knight anyways, now you have another reason to be excited. And who knows, we might even get a peak at Zack Snyder’s Watchmen too (that is, unless they decide to hold off until Comic-Con)
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins hits theaters on May 22nd 2009.
